These photos were posted early this morning on Drake's Instagram. It's probably to late for anything to make it onto one of their upcoming albums, both due out in September a week apart; maybe iTunes bonus tracks, or just something that will come out of nowhere...
Above is The Weeknd's official "cover" for his upcoming album Kiss Land, and beside it is Portishead's 1994 album cover for Dummy. Problem is Geoff Barrow from Portishead has once already vented on twitter that he was disapointed that The Weeknd continued to promote the song "Belong To the World" even though Geoff suggested him to stop. We were worried Portishead would take legal action, but now that The Weeknd and Universal have pushed forward with this cover that is clearly "Inspired" by Portishead's Dummy artwork, either they worked something out, or Universal will just release it without permission. Although there is a strong resemblance to Portishead's cover, The Weeknd's Kiss Land cover also has another resemblance to something else, his first three mixtapes that he released. Geoff hasn't been on twitter since the release of the cover, so we have yet to hear back, stay posted... Source: AX on KTT We found out awhile back that we would be getting this remix and today we got it. Listen or Download the track below and tell me what you think. I never heard of Kavinsky before this but this sounds dope! Enjoy!
The 2013 MTV Video Music Award Nominees were just posted online, and The Weeknd and XO got two nominations, both for the Wicked Games music video. Lamar instagramed a photo of one of Hyghly and Abel's nomination for best visual effects. We don't know much about the other videos nominated for best visual effects, but The Weeknd's chances of winning Artist To Watch are high. We expect The Weeknd and XO to attend the VMA's, seeing as the VMA's are two days before the scheduled release date for Kiss Land! Watch the VMA's on MTV - Sunday, August 25th at 9pm ET/PT
